Mars, a renowned actor and stuntman, was born Cheung Wing-fat in Hong Kong, where he embarked on a remarkable journey in the world of entertainment.
As a child, he was sent to learn the art of Peiking Opera at Madame Fan Fok-fa's prestigious "The Spring and Autumn Drama School", which was considered the rival school to Yu Jim-yuen's China Drama Academy, where the legendary 7 Little Fortunes, including Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, and Yuen Biao, were trained.
Mars began his film career at a young age, making his debut as the "Sand Demon" in the 1966 film "The Monkey Goes West". As he grew older, he became a skilled stuntman, playing small fighting roles in numerous films and working alongside his close friend and fellow martial arts legend, Jackie Chan, on several projects.
It was around this time that Mars acquired his stage name, suggested by an action director due to his nickname "Martian Monster". He went on to become a regular member of Jackie Chan's Stunt Team, appearing in over 120 films and working together with Sammo Hung on notable projects such as "Knockabout" (1979) and "Odd Couple" (1979).
Throughout his illustrious career, Mars was a stalwart presence in the Hong Kong film industry, working alongside some of the most iconic figures in the business. One of his most memorable onscreen appearances was as Jackie Chan's co-star in the 1982 film "Dragon Lord", where the duo faced off against the formidable Korean super-kicker In-shik Hwang.
For over two decades, Mars remained a beloved and respected figure in the martial arts world, leaving a lasting legacy that continues to inspire new generations of fans and performers alike.
