Ken, a newcomer to Kansas, befriends Julie, but her possessive boyfriend Tom doesn't approve. Meanwhile, Tom's sensei, Lee, is haunted by a past tragedy involving a rookie cop, Billy, who now works as the school's janitor. After Ken is beaten up by Tom, Billy takes Ken under his wing, teaching him self-defense skills that ultimately lead to a showdown between students and sensei.
