In the 9th century, a troupe of traveling performers stages a fake hanging as part of their show. When they're invited to Count Drago's castle, tensions rise as the harlequin is fired and replaced by a former officer. An ominous old woman's prophecy foretells death for some of them, and they soon discover a seemingly lifelike crow in the forest. Upon arrival at the castle, they find a room filled with taxidermied birds, but their unease is only just beginning as Count Drago makes his entrance.

Entertainers are lured to a mysterious castle by the enigmatic Count Drago, only to discover they're pawns in his sinister game of preserving the living as mummies.
