Bill Lowry's father is murdered, and he becomes convinced that Ballard is responsible. To avenge his father's death, Lowry takes on the persona of the Durango Kid and begins robbing Ballard, stealing his stolen money and distributing it to struggling homesteaders. However, when Ballard discovers Nancy with the loot, he accuses Lowry of being the Kid and sets a trap to catch him.
