Andrew Briggman, a skilled soldier, joins the US troops in Afghanistan. After his incompetent sergeant is killed, seasoned veteran sergeant Deeks takes charge, transforming them into a formidable team. Deeks earns respect, fear, and popularity, but also manipulates ambitious soldiers, including Andrew, who wins a promotion but at a great cost.
