Mickey and Pluto embark on a quail hunting adventure, with Pluto initially scaring away their target. Mickey teaches Pluto how to be a pointer, and they track another quail. However, Mickey mistakenly jumps on a bear's nose, thinking it's Pluto. Meanwhile, Pluto successfully points out the quail, but is soon overwhelmed by curious babies. As Mickey finally finds Pluto, now covered in animals, he realizes a bear is following them and attempts to reason with it before backing off a cliff, landing on Pluto.
