Titanic Town background

Titanic Town

A housewife in Belfast becomes embroiled in the city's tumultuous peace efforts, straining her family relationships as they navigate the complex web of loyalty and opposition to the IRA.

In 1972 Belfast, Northern Ireland, Bernie McPhelimy, a naive mother, tries to raise her family amidst the chaos of political turmoil. After her friend is mistakenly killed by the I.R.A. and her neighbors are repeatedly raided by the army, Bernie dares to speak out against the violence, criticizing both sides equally. Her call for a ceasefire is misinterpreted by many as an attack on the I.R.A., and as her small peace movement gains momentum, she and her family become targets.
