A young boy from Nebraska, Billy Thompson, seeks to honor his late mother, a musician, by building his own recording studio. To make his dream a reality, he enters a DJ competition in Los Angeles, where he meets Nite Owl, a fellow DJ with a revolutionary new concept, and Maya, a talented dancer from New York. However, his success is threatened by a rival DJ who will stop at nothing to eliminate the competition.
