A ruthless outlaw, Parker, orchestrates a scheme to deceive local cattlemen by stealing their cattle and framing a group of turpentiners for the crime. He goads the cattlemen into taking revenge on the turpentiners, resulting in the destruction of their property. Gene, a man seeking justice, discovers the stolen cattle and attempts to confront Parker, but is thwarted. In a fit of rage, Parker kills Gene's father and another man, Bayliss Baynam, and then manipulates circumstances to have Gene arrested for the murder.
