The Dead End Kids, formerly from New York's East Side, find themselves in sunny California, seeking a quick fortune. Inspired by Grey, Halop showcases his skills, leading him and Hall to work on Galli's ranch, where they're treated with dignity. Galli's son disappeared as an infant, and Halop tries to convince her he's the long-lost son, potentially gaining wealth. As Galli's kindness motivates Halop, he devises a plan to help her when truckers and a labor organization conspire to sabotage her crops.
