An Enemy to Die For background

An Enemy to Die For

A group of scientists and crew members from around the world find themselves stranded in the Arctic wilderness, where they must confront the brutal elements and their own personal demons as World War II breaks out, testing their resolve and forcing them to fight for survival.

In the late summer of 1939, a German expedition sets sail for the Norwegian arctic islands of Svalbard, seeking proof of the theory that all land on Earth was once connected. As they navigate the icy waters, the European pre-war tensions escalate, and Germany invades Poland, marking the start of World War II. The diverse crew, comprising Germans, Norwegians, Russians, a Swede, and a British Jew, must now wait for their governments to contact them, as they are now part of a German expedition in wartime. Their mission to prove Alfred Wegener's theory of Pangaea is put on hold as they are commanded to participate in a military operation to sink a British warship carrying 1,200 soldiers, forcing them to confront a desperate situation with no escape.
