The Newton family's life is transformed when a small puppy, later named Beethoven, a St Bernard, enters their home and hearts. However, their joy is short-lived as Dr. Varnick, the local veterinarian, has a sinister secret involving his use of dogs for inhumane experiments, and Beethoven is his next target.
