Bob Berdella, a Kansas City resident, bought a house on Charlotte Avenue in the 1960s, which became the site of his heinous crimes. Despite his community involvement, including mentoring troubled youths and working with local charities, Berdella led a double life. He owned a shop at the Westport Flea Market, "Bob's Bazaar Bizarre," where he sold unusual items like human skulls, occult books, and knives. After his arrest, investigators found Berdella's notebooks detailing his torture methods, along with over 1,000 Polaroid pictures of his victims. He eventually confessed to 6 murders between 1984 and 1988.
