In 1674, Sir Henry Morgan, a former pirate turned Jamaican official, is accused of still engaging in piracy by Edward Maynard, who seeks a large reward. Maynard goes undercover as a ship's surgeon alongside Morgan's henchman, who has been replaced by notorious pirate Blackbeard. Edwina Mansfield, initially appearing as a damsel in distress, is revealed to have a hidden agenda.
