Eric McNally, a former Toronto Maple Leaf hockey player, retired from the sport after a shoulder injury and now works as a sportscaster. He has kept his long-term relationship with sports lawyer Sam a secret from his colleagues, as he fears being judged for being gay. When they take temporary custody of Scot, a flamboyant and loving adolescent whose mother recently passed away, Eric's life is turned upside down. As they wait for Scot's biological father, Billy, to arrive, Eric and Scot must learn to navigate their new relationship and come to terms with each other's differences.
