The Burlesque Lounge, once a thriving venue, now faces financial and artistic struggles under the ownership of Tess, a retired dancer. The troupe members are distracted by personal problems and a wealthy businessman's threat to buy the club from Tess. Meanwhile, Ali, a small-town girl from Iowa, finds a new lease on life as a waitress at the Lounge, falling in love with burlesque and eventually becoming the main attraction with her big voice.
