Charlie St. Cloud, a golden high school boy, had a promising future ahead of him, with a scholarship to Stanford and a spot on a prestigious yacht sailing team. However, after his brother Sam's death, Charlie's life took a drastic turn. He became consumed by guilt and abandoned his plans to attend Stanford, instead taking a menial job as a graveyard keeper.
