Dante Hicks, a convenience store clerk, has a terrible day. He's forced to work on his day off, and things only get worse. He discovers his ex-girlfriend is getting married, his current girlfriend's sexual experience exceeds his expectations, and he's preoccupied with a hockey game and a friend's wake. His friend Randal, a video store clerk, shares his disdain for their mundane jobs.
