A wealthy and evil man, Zafar Khan, is thwarted in his attempt to marry Salma and instead plots his revenge after being imprisoned. He floods the region, killing her father, injuring Salma and her husband, and causing her to lose her memory. Zafar abducts Salma, adopts a boy, and tells the world she is his wife. Years later, Salma's son Iqbal, now a confident young man, reunites with his mother, but she has no recollection of him.
