Ezra Ounce, a wealthy philanthropist, launches a crusade against "immoral" forms of entertainment, including Broadway shows. He recruits his relatives' families to join his campaign, but his own niece Barbara is starring in a production backed by Jimmy, who is struggling to pay the bills after receiving an invalid check from his investor. Meanwhile, a showgirl named Mabel hatches a plan to blackmail Barbara's father, Horace, who has a compromising history with her, in an attempt to secure the funds needed to save the show.
