Mesa City prepares to welcome the new stagecoach, while Billy Carson's Pony Express operates a parallel route, sparking a friendly rivalry with the Farrell Stagecoach Company. When the stagecoach is attacked by crooked lawyer Jim Higgins and his henchmen, Billy intervenes, killing two bandits and driving off the others. However, Stone and Higgins plot to pit Carson and Farrell against each other.
