Anil, a talented street performer, and his mother are forced to flee Bombay after being falsely accused of theft. Years later, in Goa, Anil pursues his dreams of stardom while Sam Oberoi, the son of his accuser, is a prominent figure in the music industry. After Sam's manager quits due to his arrogant behavior, Anil is given a chance to shine at a function, captivating the audience except for Sam's sister Rita. As Anil's fame grows, he becomes known as "Jimmy," eclipsing Sam's career, and Rita eventually joins forces with him. However, Sam and his father will stop at nothing to sabotage Anil's success.
