The poor Pepper family, who were once homeless, now live with wealthy businessman J.H. King and his grandson Jasper in their mansion. Polly and Jasper have developed feelings for each other, but their happiness is threatened when J.H. suffers a stroke, leaving him unable to manage the copper mine they co-own. With the bank threatening to foreclose on the loan, they must decide whether to sell the mine to their competitor or find a way to find copper before the deadline.
