Nell Gwynn, a spirited daughter of a London innkeeper, finds herself entangled in a passionate romance with John Loder, the ruler of a struggling European duchy.

In this movie, a young woman named Nellie, inspired by Nell Gwynn, falls in love with a king from a small European duchy. They meet while she's selling oranges on the street, and he's drawn to her charming nature. However, the king's father demands he marry a princess from a neighboring kingdom to secure power and wealth, leaving Nellie heartbroken. Despite this, Nellie helps the princess become more charming and confident, and the royal wedding is a success.
