Jack Butler, a happy family man, lives in a Detroit suburb with his wife Caroline and their three kids, Alex, Kenny, and Megan. He's an engineer who works with friends Stan and Larry at an auto factory, commuting with their boss Jinx. When Jack loses his job, Caroline takes charge, finding work at Ron Richardson's advertising agency and rising through the ranks. Meanwhile, Jack struggles to handle household chores and childcare responsibilities.
