Marshal Clark dispatches Lash La Rue and Fuzzy Q. Jones to dismantle a counterfeiting gang led by Jim McCord in a deserted border town. Along the way, they chase off three outlaws pursuing Frank Evans and his daughter Jane, who are fleeing an outlaw's hideout. Lash leaves Fuzzy to guard their wagon while escorting the Evans' to a friend's cabin, but finds Fuzzy missing and a note from the Frontier Phantom, warning him to leave the country.

Two outlaws are sent to Mexico by the Marshal, but instead, they discover a notorious smuggling operation led by McCord, with the added complexity of Lash's brother, the infamous Frontier Phantom, serving as McCord's loyal right-hand man, leading to a tense and inevitable showdown.
