A troubled orphan boy, with his loyal dragon by his side, discovers a sense of belonging in a new and welcoming community, leaving his painful past behind.
Pete, a 9-year-old orphan, flees his abusive adoptive family, the Gogans, with the help of his loyal dragon companion Elliott. They find refuge with Lampie, a lighthouse keeper, and his daughter Nora in Passamaquoddy, but their new home is threatened by the sinister Dr. Terminus, who seeks to exploit Elliott for his own gain.
