Eddie, a pubmonkey and amateur philosopher, is a chronic loser stuck in a dead-end job at a shoe store. His life takes a turn when he receives a call from a crazy drug addict, Loony Noonie, accusing him of stealing cocaine and threatening to kill his girlfriend if he doesn't return it by 8pm. With no knowledge of the cocaine or his girlfriend's kidnapping, Eddie decides to gather a motley crew of friends from his past to rescue her, including the aging builders known as "The Berts" and an unhinged debt collector named Bingo.
