The prince, educated in Britain, is persuaded to disguise himself as Watson's nephew on an ocean liner to Algiers. However, the ship is filled with suspects, including a circus performer, archaeologists, a mute, a steward, a chanteuse, and a British dowager, making it a challenge for Holmes to outwit them and deliver the prince safely.
