A widowed father and his two daughters move to a winter resort town in Utah, where they start a new life. The youngest daughter, Kassie, is struggling to make friends, but finds comfort in music and singing. She discovers an abandoned dog, Scoot, and nurses him back to health with her sister's help. As Kassie joins the local church's children's choir, she finds her place in town and helps her friends raise money for the Toys for Tots charity. Meanwhile, two security guards hired by Kassie's father have ulterior motives, and Scoot has a surprising past as a police dog.
