A middle-aged woman, recently abandoned by her husband for a younger woman, must start anew and learn to be self-sufficient. She finds a new sense of purpose by teaching at a local school, but struggles to find a place to live until she moves into a former morgue, where she clashes with the quirky graveyard keeper. Despite their initial disagreements, they eventually fall in love and Eliska proves to her ex-husband that she is capable of thriving on her own.
