Petr Vanek, a Czech actor born in May 1979 in Nove mesto na Morave, Czech Republic, graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in 2004 and has since resided and worked in Prague. Throughout his career, he has appeared in numerous international feature films and TV series, showcasing his versatility as an actor.
Some of his notable roles include Felipe, a crazy lift boy, in the film "Last Holiday" directed by Wayne Wang, Manny Gerber, a Jew, in the film "Last Train" directed by Joseph Vismeier, and Miguel de Corrella, an assassin, in the TV series "Borgia" created by Tom Fontana. He also played supervisor Valko in the TV series "Crossing Lines" created by Edward Allen Bernero.
In his latest feature film, "Child 44" directed by Daniel Espinosa, Petr played Fyodor, an MGB agent, alongside actors Tom Hardy, Joel Kinnaman, and Noomi Rapace. In the upcoming short film "Nosferatu in Love" directed by Peter Straughan, he will play the role of Fonso, a gypsy guy, alongside Mark Strong.
In addition to his international projects, Petr has also appeared in a wide range of roles in Czech movies. In comedy films, he has played characters such as Ernest, an illusionist, in "Close to Heaven" directed by Dan Svatek, Tony in "Women in Temptation" directed by Jiri Vejdelek, and a driver in "Aussig" directed by Tony Laue.

As a theatre actor, Petr has performed in various Czech theatre companies, with recent roles including Carson, an elusive director of research, in "Krakatit" written by famous Czech novelist Karel Capek, Heydrich in the theatrical spectacle "Perak", and one of the six men on a journey to the wilderness in the physical theatre performance "Men".
Petr has also appeared in the one-man show "Unicorn", where he plays the role of an egoist, man alienated, isolated, anxious, fearful, and the viewer alternately evokes feelings of compassion, pity, or resistance. The performance features an oppressive atmosphere that is alternately lightened by comic moments.
Outside of his acting career, Petr enjoys a variety of sports and activities, including snowboarding, long boarding, surfing, swimming, horse riding, fencing, and yoga. He also plays the accordion.
