Newlyweds Dan and Laura Fuller arrive at Dan's isolated mansion, where he reveals he has a pet gorilla named Spanky. Despite Dan's warnings, Laura gets near Spanky's cage, and the gorilla grabs her wrist. Later, Spanky escapes and Laura is unafraid, but Dan shoots the animal when it approaches her. Laura then begins to have disturbing dreams and awakens with a strange feeling she knew Spanky before. Under hypnosis, Laura reveals she was a gorilla in a previous life, and Dan decides to take her on a honeymoon trip to Africa to capture animals for a zoo.
