The Butterfly's Dream background

The Butterfly's Dream

Two aspiring poets in a charming Turkish town struggle to balance their creative aspirations with the demands of daily life, all while grappling with personal health issues and romantic entanglements.

In the sweltering summer of 1941, during the tumultuous era of World War II, two young poets, Muzaffer Tayyip Uslu and Rustu Onur, navigate the dire circumstances of poverty and famine. Despite being ravaged by tuberculosis, they share a passion for poetry and a penchant for making reckless bets on things they don't own. The two friends wager on the affections of a beautiful girl, Suzan, agreeing to write poems for her and vowing that the one she favors will fade from the scene.
