Telly Paretta, a grieving mother, is struggling to cope with the loss of her nine-year-old son Sam, who disappeared on a plane with five other children. As time passes, Telly's grip on reality begins to slip, and she starts to lose all physical evidence of Sam's existence. Her husband and doctor try to convince her that she's just experiencing a delusion, but Telly is determined to find proof of her son's existence. She teams up with Ash Correll, an ex-Hockey player whose daughter was also on the plane, and NYC cop Ann Pope, who believes that their shared delusion is not a coincidence. Together, they work to uncover the truth behind Sam's disappearance.
