Casey Owens, a young mechanic, designs a turbine car engine to break the land speed record. He's hired by wealthy playboy Stanford Rogers, but the project hits a snag after a test run. Casey and his friend Chuck buy the failed car and salvage its turbine engine, which they use to build a new car to compete in the Tristate Endurance Race. Along the way, Casey falls for Chuck's sister Pamela.
