In July 2000, the Mormon film industry is left reeling after Richard Dutcher, a pioneer of "Mormon Cinema," goes missing and is presumed dead. Three amateur filmmakers, Judy Shumway, Peter Beuhmann, and Kevin Evans, decide to make their feature-length debut films to fill the void left by Dutcher's disappearance. The movie follows their individual journeys as they strive to become the next "Mormon Spielberg."
