In a small Oklahoma town, a young couple's relationship faces challenges as they confront cultural and personal issues, while the local pastor's faith is also shaken.
Ben Affleck's character, Neil, falls in love with a Ukrainian woman, Marina, and her daughter Tatiana in Paris. They travel to Mont St. Michel, and Neil invites Marina to move to Oklahoma with him. After some time, their relationship cools, and Marina finds comfort in a priest, Father Quintana.
