Walk the Proud Land background

Walk the Proud Land

A government agent expertly mediates a peaceful resolution between the US Army and the Apache tribe in 1874, garnering their respect with his fair and diplomatic methods.

A US Indian Agent pioneers a new approach to peace with the Apaches by respecting their autonomy rather than imposing military rule. He wins over the reservation chiefs and a widowed Apache woman, who becomes his housekeeper. Through diplomacy and trust-building, the reservation begins to transition towards self-governance. However, tensions arise between the Apache woman and the Agent's Eastern wife, who must adapt to the cultural differences.
