A dying man entrusts a mysterious bag of money to Zatoichi, a blind swordsman, with a cryptic request to deliver it to "Taichi". As Zatoichi navigates the countryside, he discovers that "Taichi" is a young boy whose family is being terrorized by ruthless gangsters.
