And the Angels Sing background

And the Angels Sing

The Angel family's musical dreams are put to the test as sibling rivalry and discord threaten to tear them apart, causing tension with their father who had hoped for a harmonious family collaboration.

The Angel sisters, Nancy, Bobby, Josie, and Patti, are reluctant performers who must work together to help their father, Pop Angel, buy a soy bean farm. They accept a gig at a seedy night club, where they meet band leader Happy Marshall, who tries to charm Nancy but is rebuffed. When Happy borrows money from Bobby to pay his band, the girls follow him to New York and ultimately secure a contract with his band after an audition.
