Ambitious young actress Carrie and her manager Mike travel to Long Island to visit Carrie's new mansion, purchased by her mother Chris. Chris reveals she's in love with wealthy Steve, but has lied about her age to him, claiming to be 31. Carrie, who is actually 12, insists her mother keep up the deception and agrees to pose as a 12-year-old. Confusion ensues as Carrie and her mother navigate a series of awkward social situations, including a nightclub visit and a fight with another "kid" to protect Jimmy's fiancée.
