Buzz Lightyear, still grieving the loss of his partner Warp Darkmatter, refuses to put another partner in harm's way and decides to work alone. However, Star Command assigns a new partner, Mira Nova, to replace Warp, much to Buzz's dismay. Meanwhile, the LGMs suggest Buzz try a new robot assistant, and a janitor named Booster dreams of joining the Space Rangers. Despite their differences, they must put aside their personal struggles and work together to save the galaxy from Emperor Zurg's latest conquest plan.
