A young girl named Fern rescues a runty piglet, raises it as her own, and names it Wilbur. When Wilbur grows into a pig, Fern is forced to sell him to her uncle, who owns a farm. There, Wilbur meets a cast of characters, but soon learns his fate is to be slaughtered.
