Gary Basaraba was born and raised in the vibrant city of Vancouver, located in the province of British Columbia, Canada. At the tender age of 20, he embarked on a journey to hone his craft at the prestigious Yale School of Drama, where he would later graduate with the Class of 1982.
Basaraba's illustrious film career began shortly after his graduation, as he worked alongside the renowned director Louis Malle on the 1985 film Alamo Bay.
