In the midst of economic crisis in 1999 Argentina, a young Jewish man named Ariel navigates his mother's illness and his own quest for sexual discovery while working a night shift surveillance job. Meanwhile, a middle-aged man named Santamaria, recently laid off from his bank job and dismissed by his wife, finds a new purpose in returning stolen wallets to their owners. As Ariel shares Santamaria's story with a TV reporter, Laura, he finds himself drawn to her, but Santamaria's own romantic interests, including a courtship of Elsa, a washroom attendant whose husband is in prison, add complexity to the tale. Against the backdrop of Christmas and Hanukkah, the characters must confront their own desires and connections amidst the chaos.
