Carter's scheme to exploit the Indians' food supply is disrupted when Turquoise abandons her baby at Dave and Chito's ranch due to scarcity of food. As Carter wounds Red Fox and later kills Hutchins, Dave becomes the prime suspect for both incidents. Seeking justice, Dave flees the law and sets out to expose Carter's deceit and bring him to justice.
