In 1947, a village called Paglapur was inadvertently left off the maps of India and Pakistan. The village housed the region's largest mental asylum, and when partition occurred, the asylum's inmates escaped, chased away the villagers, and established their own republic. Over the next 60 years, Paglapur remained isolated, with no electricity, TV, or sanity.
