Monica Miller, a Boston-based emergency room nurse practitioner, has dedicated herself to her career, not taking a vacation in four years. When she's denied a promotion, her boss and mother encourage her to achieve a better work-life balance by taking a break. Her mother suggests the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage, where Monica's parents met. As Monica learns to let go of control and accept help, she embarks on a guided walk with Consuelo, Ernesto, Luis, and Mateo, a grandfather-father-son trio from Boston. Along the way, Monica and Luis, a divorced father struggling to find success in his roles, develop a romantic connection that challenges their individual reasons for being on the pilgrimage.
