A young accountant, living in San Francisco, moves into a new apartment to be closer to her writer boyfriend, who's struggling with writer's block. As intimacy issues arise, she finds solace in eavesdropping on phone conversations, which leads her to suspect a serial killer targeting prostitutes is operating in the city. She joins forces with her ex-girlfriend to uncover the killer's identity before they become the next victims.
